Portrait painting is not oriented towards an art trend. I see portrait painting as a need that dates back to the earliest times of humanity. Therefore, portrait painting is timeless.

I have been working in art for over 40 years. Of those, I spent 12 years working in South Africa, even engaging with the cave paintings of the Khoi and San. I have gathered experience in almost every art medium. Currently, I am also working on classic large-format portraits. See under “specials.”

Buying art is a matter of priority and money. I want to give people the opportunity to acquire a piece of my work, even if they are not willing to spend a lot of money. Money is always a measure of priority.

I need one day for it. Interestingly, most of the time is not spent painting but rather when I need to take a break from the work. Often I return to the work after an hour and suddenly see something important that needs to be changed or added. Thus, the work grows until I am satisfied with it and call it finished. The concept of “finished” in painting is a story in itself.

I say no! In the past, it was common practice in Europe for the upper class to hang a portrait of themselves in their own living area. Even today, there are cultures where this is customary. Presenting is actually the right word. Everyone presents themselves in their own way. Question? Is it selfish to own a large, expensive car even if you don't really need it and a small car would suffice?
